About Me
Amy is originally from Glencoe, Illinois where she started playing violin at five, recorder at eight, and viola at ten. Amy has been a violist of the San Antonio Philharmonic since September 2022 and has performed with the Utah Symphony, Chicago Symphony, Fort Worth Symphony, Austin Symphony, and San Antonio Symphony. She received her BM in viola performance degree with highest honors from the University of Michigan under the tutelage of Professor Yizhak Schotten. As part of the San Antonio Symphony's Community Outreach and Engagement Program, Amy coached sectionals at Lanier High School, taught a master class at John Jay High School, and demonstrated her instruments for students at area San Antonio schools. Additionally, Amy was a long term substitute teacher for the orchestra director at Burbank High School, taught private lessons at various San Antonio high schools, and runs her own music studio.

Vision and Values
I believe that anybody is capable of playing violin and/or viola no matter how young or old they start. I envision that playing violin, viola, and/or recorder should be fun all the time, and there should never be any stressful or painful moments in the learning process.
